Target media: UK media
Media Event: What is the future of gaming in Finland and the UK?

Gaming industry is one of Finland’s strong points. Companies such as Remedy, Sulake and Rovio have created various hit games, including Max Payne, Habbo Hotel and Angry Birds. Financially, it is Finland’s most significant field of cultural export. Technology know-how combined with a strong gaming culture is just one of the factors behind the rapid development of the Finnish gaming industry.

UK is the fourth largest producer of computer games in the world and the largest in Europe. UK has been at the forefront of the games industry for decades, and there is a wide range of highly creative and successful game studios in the country.

But what lies ahead? And what could the Finnish and UK gaming industries learn from each other? Learn more and meet some of tomorrow’s success stories during an afternoon of presentations and a panel discussion, followed by networking drinks.

The event will be moderated by Kristian Segerstråle, GM and Co-founder of Playfish, and will include representatives from Remedy, Grey Area and Supercell among others. Check the programme at www.facebook.com/finnfacts
